Chair - Jan Clemons

Jan has chaired ARG UK since 2005.  She is the chair of the Warwickshire Amphibian and Reptile Team, a Trustee of The HCT and has been involved with the British Herpetological Society as a member of the council and the chair of the conservation committee.

 

Vice chair David Orchard

David is the chair of the Amphibian and Reptile Group of South Lancashire (ARGSL), and is ARG UK's regional representative for the North West.

David is keen to see the ARG network become more effective by working in partnership with other organisations and in Lancashire is working on a project involving both ARGSL and Pond Conservation.

David also runs his own business, North West Conservation Projects Ltd., which provides ecological services including great crested newt surveys, habitat management and training.

Widespread Species Conservation Officer

John Baker

John is the chair of Suffolk Amphibian and Reptile Group and ARG UK’s regional representative for the East of England.  In addition to voluntary herpetofaunal conservation activities, John has a broad experience of the professional sector, having worked in administrative, consultancy and research roles.

Currently John is the assistant project officer for Make the Adder Count, and the National Amphibian and Reptile Recording Scheme (NARRS) www.narrs.org.uk.

Treasurer Chris Gleed-Owen  

Chris is chair of the Dorset Amphibian and Reptile Network, ARG UK's regional representative for the South-west and committee member of the British Herpetological Society.  Chris is known to many because of his work on the NARRS project, now being co-ordinated by John Wilkinson at The Herpetological Conservation Trust.
