ARG UK 100% Fund
The ARG UK 100% Fund has been launched to
provide small grants to ARGs involved in practical conservation
work. ARG UK realises that ARG volunteers are often best
placed to target money effectively for the benefit of amphibian and
reptile conservation. Sometimes small amounts of money can make a
big difference locally, but nevertheless can be hard to find. The
sort of projects funded might include the creation of new ponds or
the purchase of tools/materials to help with habitat management.
Money for the 100% Fund has been kindly
donated to ARG UK. It’s called ‘100%’ because all money donated
goes into funding conservation projects – not on administration or
overheads.
The ARG UK 100% Fund is open
only to groups affiliated to ARG UK.
-
Grants will be awarded twice
per year; the closing dates for applications are September 30
and December 31 2008. Grants will be paid to successful
applicants after the ARG UK regional representatives meeting in
October and at the Herpetofauna Workers’ Meeting in spring 2009.
-
The maximum award will be approximately
£250.
-
Priority will be given to projects that
give the best value for money for amphibian and reptile
conservation.
-
Projects that include funding from other
sources or involve partnership working will be looked upon
favourably.
-
The number and size of grants given to
projects will depend on the amount of money donated to the fund
over a twelve-month period and the number of applications
received.
This fund will not
cover a group’s administrative or training expenses.
